Cornell Johnson is Pastor and founder of Jesus the Christ Ministries of the Apostolic Faith Inc, located in Federalsburg, Maryland 21632
Pastor Johnson was baptized in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ in March of 1990, and received the Gift of the Holy Ghost in March of 1993.
Pastor Johnson was a member of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, (PAW) DC, Delaware, Maryland district council for 17 years. During that time he served as an executive board member of the Brotherhood, brotherhood secretary, and assistant secretary of the Brotherhood.
In March 2002, he completed the Ministerial-Christian Worker School of Homiletics training class of the PAW, receiving his fellowship for local ministry. On June 14, 2005, he was elevated to a non-ordained elder of the PAW.
Pastor Johnson was a member of Greater Mt Zion Pentecostal Church for 10 years under the leadership of Bishop Chester Friend. During that time he served as an usher, deacon, Christian Education teacher, and minister. Under this ministry is where the foundation of Holiness and the Apostolic Doctrine was instilled. In 2002, he heard the call from God to the capacity of Pastor, yet God also said, “now is not the time; your gift will make room for you”.
He then was a member of the Whole Counsel of God Ministries for 7 years under the leadership of then District Elder Marvin Jenkins. During that time Pastor Johnson served as Choir director, Men’s ministry leader, Christian Education Superintendent, Assistant Pastor, and Executive Pastor. The time spent at WCGM was both rewarding and challenging. We knocked on doors, witnessed in the streets, and held services outside, all in an effort to win souls. From those efforts Pastor Johnson Baptized souls in Jesus Name, and witnessed the infilling of the Holy Ghost.
November 2009, Pastor Johnson answered the call and began teaching weekly bible study at the Holiday Inn Express in Seaford Delaware believing God would provide a sanctuary for Sunday services. While on a 21 day fast God spoke and said; “stop looking for a building, and I will send a sign when provisions have been made”. Shortly their after God provided as He promised and we began Sunday services at the Comfort Inn and Suites.
In March of 2010 Pastor Johnson was introduced to Bishop Mitchell Way through a mutual friend. Bishop drove to Seaford to meet with Pastor Johnson, and after that meeting Jesus the Christ Ministries was lead to be under the umbrella of Faith Assemblies of Christ World Wide Inc, (FACWW) where the presiding Bishop is Mitchell Way. On March 27, 2010, Pastor Johnson was ordained as an Elder by the FACWW organization. Bishop Way was vital in the purchase of our church edifice located in Federalsburg Maryland. Words cant explain how God has blessed!
In his chosen profession for over 30 years Pastor Johnson held various positions of leaderships, which all has helped to enhances him as he leads the saints of God.
Pastor Johnson is married to Lady Deliah Johnson. The two became one on December 29, 1990 and they reside in Seaford Delaware. The Lord has blessed this blended family with 2 sons and 2 daughters, David, Macha, Sharonne, and Duonne.
